MOVOPとは作家まちだりなによって発足した、映像メディアの新たな地平を切り拓くためのプラットフォームです。
既存の映画祭や実験映像の閉鎖性からの脱却をきっかけに、映像を「実験」や「消費的産物」ではなく、表現として再考するための問いを投げかけていきます。
展示や上映に加え、ZINEの発行、イベントの企画など、多様なかたちで活動を展開。
そしてMOVOPは、人や場所にとらわれることなく、流動的にその形を変えていきます。
2024年の第一回の展示・上映会では現在のアニメーションの再考を目指し、U30の作家7名によって行われました。その際には、上映会、展示、トークイベントなどを運営し、チケットやオリジナルzineの販売などを行い、作り続ける作家への還元を目指しました。
MOVOP is a platform launched by artist Lina Machida to explore new horizons in the visual media.
With a breakaway from the closed nature of existing film festivals and experimental film, MOVOP poses questions to rethink film as an expression, not as an “experiment” or a “consumer product.
In addition to exhibitions and screenings, MOVOP's activities take a variety of forms, including the publication of zines and the planning of events.
And MOVOP will continue to change its form fluidly, without being restricted by people or places.
The first exhibition and screening in 2024 was held by seven U30 artists with the aim of rethinking current animation. At that time, MOVOP ran screenings, exhibitions, and talk events, and sold tickets and original zines to give back to the artists who continue to create.
